the Wyoming Secretary of State and is often required for loans, to renew business licenses, or for tax or other business

Certificate of Authority, the Wyoming Good Standing
Certificate is a one page document which looks like a letter and bears the seal of the state of Wyoming
Secretary of State or another Wyoming state agency if the Wyoming Secretary of State is not the issuing authority.
A Wyoming Good Standing Certificate is provided by the Wyoming Secretary of State and is conclusive evidence of the
existence of your Wyoming business franchise - your Wyoming Corporation or Wyoming LLC.
In most cases a Wyoming Certificate of Good Standing can be valid up to
three months.
To obtain a Wyoming Good Standing Certificate (Wyoming Certificate of

If you own a Wyoming business and have not formed a Corporation, LLC, Partnership or other legal entity in the state of Wyoming,
then you are a Sole Proprietor by default.
Nothing needs to be filed with the Wyoming Secretary of State to create a Sole Proprietorship.
If you plan to use a name different from your first and last name then you would register in the Wyoming county in which you do business
with your first and last name "Doing Business As" (DBA) the name of your business (for example: Sue Smith, DBA Sue's Wyoming Business).

issued by the Wyoming Secretary of State for business entities that have registered with the state of Wyoming.
A Sole Proprietorship or DBA is not normally registered with the Wyoming Secretary of State so a
Wyoming Certificate of Good Standing cannot be issued for them.

in the state of Wyoming.
