A Texas Certificate of Good Standing is often required for loans, to renew business licenses or for tax purposes.  A Texas Good Standing Certificate verifies that your organization complies with requirements of the Texas Secretary of State and therefore is in "Good Standing".  Also known as a Certificate of Existence or a Certificate of Status, the Good Standing Certificate is a one page document provided by the Texas Secretary of State and is conclusive evidence of the formation of your business.  In most cases it can be valid up to three months.

To obtain a Texas Good Standing Certificate, your company must be registered as a legal entity with the Texas Secretary of State, and cannot be in default of corporate rules, or suspended by the State of Texas.

  • The company must be registered as a legal entity in Texas
      (Corporation or LLC)
  • The company cannot be in default or suspended as defined by the Texas Secretary of State
