and is often required for loans, to renew
business licenses, or for tax or other business purposes in the state of Nebraska or in any other state. A Nebraska Certificate of Good Standing
verifies that your Nebraska Corporation or Nebraska LLC is in Existence, is authorized to transact business in
the state of Nebraska, and complies with all state of Nebraska
requirements and therefore is in "Good Standing" in the state of Nebraska (NE).
Also known as a Nebraska Certificate of Existence, a
Nebraska Certificate of Status or a Nebraska Certificate of Authority, the Nebraska Good Standing
Certificate is a one page document provided by the Nebraska Secretary of State and is conclusive
evidence of the existence of your Nebraska Corporation or Nebraska LLC. In most cases a Nebraska Certificate of Good Standing
can be valid up to three months.
To obtain a Nebraska Good Standing Certificate
(Nebraska Certificate of Existence), your company must
be registered as a legal entity with the Nebraska Secretary of State, i.e., your company is in existence
in the state of Nebraska, and cannot be in default of Nebraska corporate rules, or suspended by the state of Nebraska.

Foreign Qualifications

Many companies require a Nebraska Good Standing Certificate (Nebraska Certificate of Existence) to qualify as a
"Foreign Corporation" in a state other than Nebraska.
A Foreign Corporation is a corporation that is registered in one state and has the Authority to do business in another state.
For example, a corporation registered in the state of California that plans to do business in the state of Nebraska is a "Foreign Corporation"
in the state of Nebraska.

Most states require you to register as a Foreign Corporation in order to do business in their state.
In order to register as a Foreign Corporation, you must prove that you are registered in another state as a domestic
Corporation, and you usually have to prove this with a state Certificate of Good Standing (Certificate of Existence/Certificate of Authority).
