Indiana Good Standing Certificate (Indiana Certificate of Existence) is issued by the Indiana Secretary of State
and is often required for loans, to renew
business licenses, or for tax or other business purposes in the state of Indiana or in any other state. An Indiana Certificate of Good Standing
verifies that your Indiana Corporation or Indiana LLC is in Existence, is authorized to transact business in
the state of Indiana, and complies with all state of Indiana
requirements and therefore is in "Good Standing" in the state of Indiana (IN).
Also known as an Indiana Certificate of Existence, an
Indiana Certificate of Status or an Indiana Certificate of Authority, the Indiana Good Standing
Certificate is a one page document provided by the Indiana Secretary of State and is conclusive
evidence of the existence of your Indiana Corporation or Indiana LLC. In most cases an Indiana Certificate of Good Standing
can be valid up to three months.
To obtain an Indiana Good Standing Certificate
(Indiana Certificate of Existence), your company must
be registered as a legal entity with the Indiana Secretary of State, i.e., your company is in existence
in the state of Indiana, and cannot be in default of Indiana corporate rules, or suspended by the state of Indiana.

Foreign Qualifications
|

Many companies require a Indiana Good Standing Certificate (Indiana Certificate of Existence) to qualify as a
"Foreign Corporation" in a state other than Indiana.
A Foreign Corporation is a corporation that is registered in one state and has the Authority to do business in another state.
For example, a corporation registered in the state of California that plans to do business in the state of Indiana is a "Foreign Corporation"
in the state of Indiana.

Most states require you to register as a Foreign Corporation in order to do business in their state.
In order to register as a Foreign Corporation, you must prove that you are registered in another state as a domestic
Corporation, and you usually have to prove this with a state Certificate of Good Standing (Certificate of Existence/Certificate of Authority).
