The name of a Corporation or LLC must be unique and distinguishable from any other registered business entity within a state.
If the name is not unique, the state will reject the Articles of Incorporation or Articles of Organization (for LLCs). A name can be reserved, usually for 120 days.
- When you incorporate with us, we verify that the Corporate Name which you have chosen is valid in the state in which you plan to form your business.
- We can also reserve a Corporate Name for you outside of the incorporation process. Click here for more Corporate Name Reservation information.
Individual states may have specific Corporate Naming requirements.
