These are the frequently asked questions for our Registered Agent Service. If you have more questions, please contact us--our friendly and knowledgeable staff is waiting to help!
When you form a new corporation you are legally required to have a Registered Agent. A Registered Agent is an individual with a physical address located in the state where the company is formed. This individual is registered with the state as the point of contact for legal notices and other official correspondence.
Why do I need a Registered Agent?
You don't. You can act as your own registered agent. Still, many people prefer to hire someone else to serve as a registered agent on their behalf:
If you want to form a California corporation (or any other state) but don't have a physical presence there
If you're not always in the office or don't have a reliable mailing address (to receive legal notices)
If you value your privacy
How can I get a Registered Agent Service?
Pacific Corporate Filings can act as your registered agent in any state in the Union. We will register with the state and we will receive all legal correspondence on your behalf. We will then forward the correspondence to you.
Note: we do not offer full mail forwarding service. Registered agent service is only for legal correspondence from the government.
