A California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) Tax Status Letter, also called an Entity Status Letter, or a Franchise Tax Board Letter of Good Standing, is often required for loans, to renew business licenses, or to do business with another company. An FTB Letter of Good Standing is a statement from the California Franchise Tax Board that all appropriate returns and taxes have been filled out and paid.
