Arizona Good Standing Certificate (Arizona Certificate of Existence) is issued by the Arizona Secretary of State
and is often required for loans, to renew
business licenses, or for tax or other business purposes in the state of Arizona or in any other state. An Arizona Certificate of Good Standing
verifies that your Arizona Corporation or Arizona LLC is in Existence, is authorized to transact business in
the state of Arizona, and complies with all state of Arizona
requirements and therefore is in "Good Standing" in the state of Arizona (AZ).
Also known as an Arizona Certificate of Existence, an
Arizona Certificate of Status or an Arizona Certificate of Authority, the Arizona Good Standing
Certificate is a one page document provided by the Arizona Secretary of State and is conclusive
evidence of the existence of your Arizona Corporation or Arizona LLC. In most cases an Arizona Certificate of Good Standing
can be valid up to three months.
To obtain an Arizona Good Standing Certificate
(Arizona Certificate of Existence), your company must
be registered as a legal entity with the Arizona Secretary of State, i.e., your company is in existence
in the state of Arizona, and cannot be in default of Arizona corporate rules, or suspended by the state of Arizona.

Foreign Qualifications

Many companies require a Arizona Good Standing Certificate (Arizona Certificate of Existence) to qualify as a
"Foreign Corporation" in a state other than Arizona.
A Foreign Corporation is a corporation that is registered in one state and has the Authority to do business in another state.
For example, a corporation registered in the state of California that plans to do business in the state of Arizona is a "Foreign Corporation"
in the state of Arizona.

Most states require you to register as a Foreign Corporation in order to do business in their state.
In order to register as a Foreign Corporation, you must prove that you are registered in another state as a domestic
Corporation, and you usually have to prove this with a state Certificate of Good Standing (Certificate of Existence/Certificate of Authority).
